Two Step Verification on several devices

HI.

I Have an iMac, iPad, and an iPhone.

In these devices there Are the same apps like iMessage and FaceTime.

When opened the IMac's FaceTime app I needed to add Two Step Verification

ok

but when opened the app in my iPhone, I need also to create two step verification again.

so do I need to create passwords in all devices?

Do I need to save the password somewhere?

Thanks

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10), Late 2012

Hi,

To follow that up and quote from your original Post:-

Actually that are different.

1) Some are written for the iOS and some for the Mac OS which leads to quite significant differences in some cases.

2) The apps on each are Compatible rather then being the same.

You are likely to have to set Passwords for each device/App combination.

Hi Ralph,

Once I created an App Specific Password for "FaceTime & Messages", which are together, I had to use the same password XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX on my iMac, iPhone and iPad that use that AppleID. Drove me nuts as even if you login to AppleID you can see that you have created an App Specific Password for "FaceTime & Messages", but you cannot see it. When you created it you better write it down. All you can do it revoke it and then create another one. They are not device specific but app specific. It is specific to that AppleID when you login to FaceTime or Messages on any device you use.

Hi,

I have never used it or tested it to check it works :-)

However your post did remind me that the Apps are different but compatible across the iOS and Mac OS X platforms and that as your say any Two Step Verification is unlikely to work and that App Specific Passwords also will not work.

Thanks for the extra info.
