I'm trying to put a 130523-Apple Prores 422.mov film which is 13.30GB in size on a 32GB flash drive, but I get "can't be copied because it is too large for the volume's format". What do I need to do? Get an even larger flash drive? If so, how big?

How is the flash drive formatted? Did you partition it GUID and format it Mac OS Extended, Journaled? How much space does the file occupy on the computer?
If the flash drive is formatted FAT 32 it can't accept files over 2 GB in size. Try reformatting it to ExFAT with Disk Utility. That format will accept larger file sizes up to 16 GB.
Kappy - I haven't formatted the disk. It's just SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0, 32 GB disk out of the package. On my computer it is a "QuickTime movie" with a "Size: 13,378,571,771 bytes (13.38 GB on disk)".

Old Toad - In Disk Utility I see the disk and see under "Erase" "Format: ExFAT" So do I erase and that will give me the space I need?

I forgot to mention that if you don't need to use the flash drive with a PC you could format it for use with Mac, i.e. OS X Extended (journaled).
