Two Issues with Logic 10.1.1

Since updating to Logic 10.1.1 from 10.1 I'm no longer to control smart controls mapped to external controls via the external control.

Also, I'm not able to open 10.1 projects via File/Open and navigating to the project. My projects are saved in containers.

Anyone else having the same issues?

OSX is 10.10.2

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Actually, now I can open older projects from the File menu. However, I'm still having the issue of controlling smart controls from an external controller when the instrument is in a track stack.
