My MacBook Pro laptop is rejecting CDS

It's been a while since I've been able to use my CD drive and it's frustrating since I have programs on CDs that I can't use anymore because of this problem. I've read posts but none of the advice seem to help. I can insert but it reads the disc for about 10 seconds then it spits the CD out. I've had two problems with the CD stuck inside the CD drive. I'm not sure what info is needed, but just in case I included my laptop info:

Optical drives can be finicky. Dust dirt or scratches on cd's Old cd's some times get unreadable. Dust or dirt on the laser in the Optical drive. How old are the cd's your trying to read? Have you tried a new one. Do you have a cd lens cleaner? You can try a SMC reset.https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Try a lens cleaning DVD or wrap a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth) around a business card and insert it carefully into the slot.

If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.
