I phone 6 is stuck in head phone mode. Can't hear phone calls unless on loudspeaker

I Can't hear voice on phone calls or button clicks when logging in .i have to use loud speaker

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3

When did this start?

Some how, it fixed itself. I had read some other material about inerting head plug in and our several times and also rebooting ,but it didn't work. Later in the night everything went back normal. I can't explain how or why. I have not used the headphones in quite a while. Thanks for responding .
