I just updated iTunes, now itunes helper won't stop trying to make itself a start program. I use winpatrol to monitor that stuff, and it keeps popping up no matter how many times I reject the change. When I go to task manager and end the process, it comes back. I use windows 7 on tihs computer, it's up to date. Please help.

And now iTunes won't stop trying to be the program associated with .mp3 files. What the heck is going on? This has never happened before.
Click Start button and type "msconfig.exe" (without double quotes) and click it. On the System Configuration window, click Startup (tab). Look for iTunesHelper.exe entry in the list. Uncheck it. Restart your PC. That'll remove iTunesHelper from loading at startup.
Go to Control Panel on your PC and select "Default Programs". You will probably find that iTunesHelper has been made the default program for mp3 files. Just remove the association (or change the association for mp3 to iTunes.exe)
