CD import problems
When I insert a cd on my MacBook Pro it sounds as though it is reading it and then it automatically ejects the cd.

Try other CD's, specifically try commercially produced CD's, if they all fail to mount your disc reader may have died. If other discs work look for another copy of that CD or consider a CD cleaner. Also try that disc in other readers if possible.
You could try a drive cleaning CD, but I have had little success with them over the years, cheap ones seem very primitive too. Your best option could be to buy an external USB CD/DVD writer if the disk is OK.
