My toddler did something to my iPhoto and now it is frozen except for a grey rectangle. I cannot even exit iPhoto. ???

My toddler did something to my iPhoto and now it is completely frozen. I cannot even exit iPhoto as all commands are greyed out. The only thing I can move is a grey rectangle in the middle of the screen. Anyone know how to correct this? Thanks,
