Q: Boot camp issues

why can't I eject the windows 8 install disk during install? I'm stuck the driver is locked and I can't return to the mac os screen?

If the installation is not complete yet, you cannot eject the DVD, because it is being read.

That makes sense except i left it at the screen that prompts me to take the disk out and restart the laptop over night and it still won't reject the disk.

Can you eject the disk after you restart? If you are using the Eject key on an Apple Keyboard and the Bootcamp Drivers are not installed properly, the Eject will not function properly.

AAnd the computer only restsrts in windows. I do not know how to get it back to Mac os.

Please see Boot Camp: Set the default operating system.

On the Windows side, do you have Control Panel -> System -> Boot Camp? If not, then use Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems - Apple Support to find drivers bundle appropriate for your Mac year/model and Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers.
