Can someone access my email through iCloud if they used to have access to my email?

What do you mean? They used to have access to your email account? Is your email account an Apple email account? Did they have your password? Have you changed it?

EEmail password has been changed but not Apple ID. Not sure if you need the email password to access the email in iCloud
You need the iCloud password to access iCloud.com if that's what you mean. You can't even get into the site, let alone into any of the apps on the site without the iCloud password.

Yes, but iCloud password is just your Apple ID password, correct? If they have that, they can access email even if I changed the yahoo email password?
Your question is not clear. If it is a Yahoo email account, then where does iCloud come into the picture? Or do you mean you are using the yahoo.com email address as your Apple ID? These are entirely different things. The Yahoo email account is not in any way related to the Apple ID that is using that email address as the Apple ID.

Yes, the yahoo email is also my Apple ID. But if my mail is in iCloud and accessible through iCloud by another computer or device using only my Apple ID password as access then it seems that anyone with that password can access my mail or anything else stored on iCloud.
Well, if you changed your Apple ID/iCloud password, then they wouldn't know it anymore so would not have access.
How would your iCloud account be accessible by another computer or device? How is your Apple ID password tied to that computer or device? Is your iCloud account signed onto that computer or device?

I Really do not know how any access to iCloud works. I know that we had a shared yahoo email account that was accessed through a desktop, a laptop, and a phone. The email was also our Apple ID and the password for the Apple ID was used by both of us. the other person no longer works at my company but still has a laptop. I change mail password but am just now wondering if mail is accessible trough iCloud, with Apple ID password, despite email password change. It may not work that way at all. I do not know.
You need to change your Apple ID password at Manage your Apple ID: Apple - My Apple ID
