Sorry I meant to ask is the warranty void in you upgrade ram on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) by yourself?
You can upgrade memory in both iMacs, but you will void warranty if you do it on a 21'5-inch iMac, apart from being very difficult. However, it's easy to install memory on the 27-inch iMac, and you can add it without worrying > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5540
