auto-lock feature disabled on iphone 5s

I have noticed that I cannot change the auto-lock time on my iphone 5s. It is defaulted to 1 minute and the option to change it is greyed out. Is there any reason for this?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

Is this a phone provided by your company - or contains company specific apps ? If so - they may have forced the autolock as a security measure.

Thanks for your response. The phone was not provided by my company. I did some checking and found that my student email system is now managed by Google. When I activated the account in my Gmail app, Google installed some kind of management system on the phone. I deactivated this control and the auto-lock feature was reinstated. Problem sorted. Thanks.
