Q: iphone 6 turns back on when charging

We turn the phone OFF then plug into the wall charger for the night and the phone comes back on. As a bonus some apps and email are missing. any ideas

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3, verizon phone

It is working as designed. When plugged in to a power source the phone will automatically turn on.

It is normal behavior for the device to turn on when connected to a power source.
If you want it off while it is charging, turn it off after you connect it to the power source.

The apps & email are a different issue. Can you be more specific?
