Paid for and downloaded songs in my foolish youth. Now cringing. Tried hiding in iTunes "purchases". Tried turning off music in settings Itunes. Tried changing to a different iTunes account. Most disappeared but accidentally downloaded one and now can't get rid of it. PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS ANNOYING SONG OFF MY IPAD. Will be overflowing with gratitude/.

Have you tried swiping from right to left on the unwanted song as this should show the delete option?
Thank you. Yes, that was one of the first things I tried. I CAN swipe to see +Delete+ on other songs, but not on purchased iTunes songs. 😟
if it shows the cloud icon then it's not present on the ipad just in the iCloud
No delete option of annoying song.
