i get a filter fail error message when trying to print from my epson xp-625 printer?

Yosemite 10.10.2 imac.

I have just bought the printer and to start with it was fine.

then the other day I got a "filter fail" error when trying to print.

I have contacted Epson who just copy and paste instructions from a manual and I have tried everything including downloading a new driver, checking the computer name is there, the printer name is there, uninstalling and re-installing the printer, rebooting, checking wi-fi, checking power supply, checking no red/orange lights on the printer. I have noticed on the last install though that when i add the printer in printers and scanners it says there is an error, however it doesn't say what that error is?

Please help as my printer is used for work purposes and this is causing me huge problems?
