Can I remove finger noise on a real instrument guitar track?

Hi, I'm working with instrument tracks recorded through an apogee jam input. I've got a piece that's in the final mixing stages, and the rhythm guitar track, which I'm running through a distorted garage band amp, has some finger sliding noise between chords that I'd like to mix out. Is there a way to remove it from the mix other than re-recording the track? Thanks.
