Disable sound when not logged in

Macbook Late 2011, OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, Chrome browser

1. Start playing a video on browser

2. Close laptop while video is playing

3. Open laptop.

At this point I have been logged out however the video sound is still playing. This sound will continue to play until the log in and start up process is completed. I would like to hear silence when I am not logged in instead of whatever the last user was doing.
