How can I correct a problem with an album gifted incorrectly?

The problem is that my wife and I gifted an album to our daughter, using her apple ID as the account we were gifting the album to. But I had forgotten that she and her husband have always used her husband's iTunes account for all their music. So, the current state of things is that we have given the album to her (and paid for it), but since she doesn't use her apple ID in connection with iTunes, she never got the gift. Is there a way I can go in and redirect the gift to her husband? Or is there some other way this can be fixed? I really hate to just blow the price of the album for nothing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone has.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you sent an iTunes gift to an Apple ID that your daughter no longer uses. Here are the steps on how to resend and iTunes gift and change the Apple ID to which it is sent.

On your computer

iTunes 11 or later

Open iTunes.

Click the iTunes Store button, in the upper-right of the iTunes window.

If you're not already signed in, click the Sign In button, in the upper-left of the iTunes window.

Click your account name and choose Account.

Scroll down to the Purchase History section and click Manage Gifts.

Find the gift that you'd like to resend and click Edit to the right of that gift.

Click the Resend Gift button on the pop-up window. Additionally, if you'd like to edit the recipient email address, you can click the recipient email address field and update the email address.

Resend iTunes Gifts
