I have some Macs running Mavericks, (Can't use Yosemite because we are doing video editing).

Anyway, I am receiving repeated nags to upgrade Aperture to 3.6 on the Mavericks machines (Have 3.5.1 now).   So I suspect that 3.6 runs on Mavericks.

Moreover, the specifications provided in the link above says 10.9 or later.

There is an inconsistency with the Tech Specs at the AppStore:

The Aperture web page lists Aperture 3.6 for Mavericks, but the AppStore as Yosemite:

    Apples Aperture page:  http://www.apple.com/uk/aperture/specs/

    Recommended

    • Mac computer with an Intel i3 processor (or faster)
    • 4GB of RAM
    • Mac OS X v10.9 (or later)

And the AppStore: OS X 10.10 or later

But when I boot into my Mavericks partition, Aperture 3.6 is crossed out and does not launch.

I get those for numbers, but if you read it very carefully it will say update your OS to get the Aperture/Numbers update, it in some very tiny print somewhere.

Apples sneaky way of trying to get all us holding out, to upgrade to Yosemite (no mater how flawed it appears to be)

Well, all I can do is hope that when we change some of our computers from Mavericks to Yosemite I will still be permitted to upgrade aperture from 3.5 to 3.6.

I do find it odd that Apple is constantly nagging me to upgrade to 3.6 on my Mavericks Macs.  Let's say I actually did this on my Mavericks machine. I would be unable to revert back to 3.5.

Is there a way to download the 3.6 update but not actually install it.  I know this can be done for iMovie and iDVD.
