Reinstalling Aperture

I changed the hard drive in my mac book and I am trying to reinstall Aperture but the app store is trying to charge to download it again. How do I deactivate the old copy to reinstall.

How are you trying to download?

  • If you purchased from the App Store, download from the "Purchased" tab, using exactly the same AppleID you used originally. Don't download from the main "Featured" App Store page.
  • If you bought Aperture on a boxed installer DVD, use the DVD to reinstall.
  • If all fails, copy the Aperture .app from your backup to the Applications folder. Aperture 3.6 should be self-contained.
