How do you join multiple mp3 files using iTunes 12, and converting them into one file.

I have a bunch of audiobook files in mp3, and aac files, and want to convert them into one big file, while retaining all chapter information. How do I join all the files together using iTunes 12?

MacBook Pro, iOS 8.1.3, null

You can't do this - iTunes only has a "join tracks" function for importing from CDs. There are, however, third-party applications that will do what you want to do ... if you have access to a Windows system then Chapter and Verseis a good option (it will take mp3 or m4a files and generate an iTunes m4b audiobook with full control over chapter subdivisions). I'm sure that there are equivalents out there for Macs.
