How do I draw "tramlines"

Hi

First off, I don't have pages, I have word but I can't find the answer to my question anywhere so I thought that the best place would be to post it would be here.

What I want to do is put the following in a word document:

----------------
THINK
----------------

However I want the lines to be continuous and the gap between the word to be equal (at the moment the top is closer than the bottom). I also want theword to be in the middle (at the moment the word is too far to the left)

I have tried drawing the lines but it doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I try to answer this question because I think the solution is also useful in Pages.

Simply insert two lines from the Draw Toolbar (sorry, my Word is only in German, so I have to translate the menu item names). Place the lines below and above your text. After selecting one line (click on it and it will show small squares at the end), you can move it in tiny "steps" using alt (= option key) and the arrow keys.

I think this is equivalent to inserting a line from Pages' object menu. The difference is that you don't need to press alt or ctrl or some other key for finer movement.

Peggy: I found it very rude to be told to go and look at the microsoft site. I had already looked at the microsoft site hence the phrase "I can't find the answer anywhere".

Matthias : Thank you. That is what I had been doing as a workaround, but when printed, it didn't look quite right.

Magnus: Thanks. You have solved the problem. I would never have thought of doing it in that way. Thank you again.

Don,

Hold your horses. Peggy's suggestion that you look at Microsoft's site is perfectly reasonable. If you had already looked at the site, you should have said so. Saying "I can't find the answer anywhere" doesn't necessarily mean you've checked the Microsoft site. For most people who say that in this forum, it simply means they've tried everything they can think of. Until someone comes along with a suggestion they haven't thought of. That's what Peggy was doing -- just giving you another option. If it doesn't apply to you, ignore it. But she most definitely was not being rude.
