Favorites Does Nothing Google Maps

I own an iPhone 5c. Im experiencing a problem with the default map app. When I create a Favorite from a search or dropped pin in Apple Maps and logically, afterwards, I want to revisit that location, Apple Maps doesn't actually go to that location. It only seems to work when you create a Favorite from a recognized location.

Whats the use of creating personalized favorites if the app wont take me there? I just tap the entry and nothing happens.

I have already tried many things:

Changing from standard view to hybrid and satellite.
Trying on other devices (iphone 4)
Searching in search bar does not bring up favorites.

iPhone 5c, iOS 8.1.3
