You can use an iPhone while it is charging, but it charges faster if you don't use it. And since this is an initial recharge, just let it finish doing its thing and then proceed.

Hi. Sure, you can use your iPhone when charging (but not always) . Just release your battery under 10% and recharge to 100% once a month, it can be helpful for battery life.

That is actually not considered best practice. Lithium ion batteries should be kept topped up when possible. That was previously recommended to calibrate the battery sensor. It never had any effect on the overall life of the battery.

Thanks for updating. Er, I got the battery issue last month and made a reservation to Genius Bar, the test for battery is Pass and Genius told me to release battery under 10% and recharge to 100% once a month. I did it and seems helpful.
