Time Machine restore problems

Hello,

I have a late 2007 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8. I tried to upgrade it to Yosemite two months ago, but finally decided today that it was too slow. So I backed up new files I had created on Yosemite and then reverted to an old time machine backup. I am now back to 10.6.8. I am now trying to move the files I created/downloaded while on Yosemite back to 10.6.8, but when I tried to move my desktop files in, for example, they appeared for a split second and then disappeared. Any tips for getting my old files back? Also, is there an easy way to take all of my Yosemite files and move them to 10.6.8 without going back to Yosemite?

Thank you!
