Impossible To Delete Reminders

I have a reminders list I created some years ago on my iCloud account. I share it with my wife...

Today I tried to delete it but found I CANNOT no matter what I try.

I have tried to delete it under each of the following:

My iPhone 6 Plus

My wife's iPhone 6

Reminders on my MacBook Air

Reminders on my wife's Mac Mini

Reminders on icloud.com under my account

Reminders on icloud.com under my wife's account

In short, it seems to be completely impossible to delete this list short of canceling both of our iCloud accounts.

What's worse is neither of us have the option to leave the list. In short it appears were stuck with the list and there is no reasonable means by which we can delete the list.

I found out how to do it . If you put the item under scheduler then it is harder to delete . If you put the item on there a list that you created that item can be deleted right there very easily . However the item that was entered directly into schedule will somehow automatically be entered into one of the list that you created even though that list has nothing to do with your items that you put in the schedule. Simply go through the other list that you have find the item and deleted it off of that list and it will automatically come off of the schedule list.

After several sessions with AppleCare, screen sharing, multiple attempts editing in the Library, ICloud switching on an off, multiple Safe (and even a Recovery boot up, with a MacOs reinstall), sending disc logs to Apple, conversations with Mac Specialists in Asia, Bose Idaho, Jacksonville Florida, days waiting for engineers to examine the logs and get back to us etc etc the Zombie Reminders under the Scheduled Tab finally were delectable by moving them to another list where I could mark them as completed and they seem to have gone.

Thank you.

I agree with Bobby T.

Surely there is a way to delete an entire list. If there is, like him, I have yet to find it.

Let's say, hypothetically, that 2 Mac users, a couple, create a shared "2013 Christmas Gift" list. Nice to have. But Christmas 2013 is long over. One can go into that list and delete individual ITEMs on that list, sure. But how to eliminate the ENTIRE "2014 Christmas Gift" list?

Don't know. Having it around for life seems ridiculous. (Hasn't Apple learned about ridding oneself of clutter?) Renaming the list seems dumb.

Just give us a Delete List option!

I'be just managed to delete an old list, you still end up with a list but can get rid of the old one!

Go into Reminders and create a new List called List. Then go into settings, go into your reminders app and then into default list. You will find your old list is probably set at default. Chnage your default list to the new one you have created. Then go back into your reminders and you will see you can now delete your old list.

I'm really pleased as I'm not a techie and worked it out, yay!

I was trying to sync my Reminders across my iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and I think I figured it out. This is for iOS 9 onwards.

1. Settings > Reminders > Default List.

2. From here, you'll see your reminders. Check the reminder you'd like to stay on your device.

3. If you have Reminders enabled on several accounts (e.g. iCloud, Yahoo, Hotmail etc.), go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Tap the account with reminders enabled > Turn off Reminder.

4. Go to Reminders, for reminders that yoy did not check as Default List in step 2 (that means not in any accounts like the ones mentioned above), if you tap them, then tap Edit, you'll see Delete List at the bottom. Here's the screenshot:

Honestly, idk why Apple won't just put a delete button because this is quite complicated. Might as well send our feedbacks to them to have this option available on the next update.
