How do I empty my trash? It always asks for empty securely however doesn't do anything. I tried to wait for hours still can't empty them.
I tried holding Option key, also restarted and tried again. It literally doesn't work

Secure empty writes over the files a number of times - and can take a very long time depending on the size of the trash you are emptying.
If you don't want to use it - Change the finder advanced preferences to not empty the trash securely (thats where the setting is on mine).
I keep the setting on secure empty - but take the flag off if I am emptying trash after deleting an old backup on an external drive where I back up only my stuff as 3 copies fit. (it would take something like 45hours to secure empty).
Unless you are about to sell your computer, there is no need to use anything but just the regular "empty trash" option as the empty space will get written over by whatever new files/additions you make.
