Unable to delete xattr com.apple.quarantine on files and folder

Hi,

I have tried to copy a backup back of "Firefox" in ~/Library/Applications Support . My error was to do it first with the terminal as sudo and not via TimeMachine (first I didn't see the folder).

Now this whole Folder is flagged as com.apple.quarantine.

I can not delete this attribute with the xattr -d command.

To inform further: with a second attempt I deleted the whole folder and re-installed it from TimeMachine (the legal way) but the special attributes remains now...

How should I deal with this?

Is the file locked

/bin/ls -dlaeO@ /path/to/the/file.or.folder.name

man chflags

for changing file flags.

Do you OWN the file or folder with the quarantine? If not, then try

sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/the/file.or.folder.name

Password: <enter you account password, then the return key; you will not see anything echoed>

Thank you.

Now I see how I misspelled the commandline.

I can remove the attr but the problem with Firefox remains (doesn't accept secure connection on twitter, tumblr... css sheets not coming in... no button to add exeption to secure serverlist etc...

I will asked this question at Mozilla.
