iPad keyboard keeps changing language

I am multilingual, and as such I need more than one language keyboard in my daily life, and iOS is making it difficult for me, as I have seen my keyboard switch to Russian when the last thing I used was English, it keeps switching back to Russian, or French, or whatever one I suppose I use "most often." It's driving me nuts. I just want the keyboard to stay where it is until I decide to change it. Anyone have a solution for me?

I have the same issue. It's been driving me crazy. The keyboard just switches from English to Japanese by itself, for no reason. It does it all the time now. And we use the ipad I have at work for customers to enter their orders, so a client will be entering their stuff and all of a sudden the keyboard goes into Japanese. It's more than just a little annoying.

Same problem: spontaneously jumps to French. I am using the Apple Bluetooth keypad and an iPad Pro. I don‘t have a globe key so it’s not this. This seems to have worked for me:

1: Iwent to settings/general/language&region. Saw that French was selected - that must have copied over from my MacBook Air. NO WAY to remove that, apparently, on the iPad.

2: Cursed Apple. Breathed deeply.

3: Went to General/Keyboard/Keyboards. Saw that there were two keyboards listed, English and French. Could not remove French. Cursed Apple again.

4: Found that I could change French to QWERTY. I know, makes no sense. But having French as QWERTY seems to work, because even when it jumps to French for NO REASON, the keys stay the same.

Hope that helps.

Try this. Reset all Settings. You will not lose any data, but you will have to enter all of the device settings again including WiFi network passwords, wallpaper. Privacy settings and the like. If you do this, the iPad should restart on its own, so don't be alarmed

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.

When using a bluetooth keyboard, you can switch layouts via Control plus Space.

I've haven't heard of any other cases where a keyboard could not be removed. What happened when you touched the Edit button in settings/general/keyboard/keyboards and tried to delete French?

Are you talking about a hardware keyboard? Or the screen keyboard?

If hardware, is perhaps the caps lock key being pressed by accident?

Do you need the Japanese keyboard to be on the list in settings/general/keyboard/keyboards?
