Mar 10, 2015 8:17 AM in response to mingdurgaby joe_7399,Hello mingdurga,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are unable to import photos from your Canon camera to your Mac because the Mac doesn’t recognize that the camera is connected. There are two different articles that I would suggest reading over in this situation. The first article has information, that you may already be familiar with, explains importing photos from a camera to your Mac.
Using a camera with your Mac - Apple Support
The next article is one that I would suggest reading over for troubleshooting. Please review the Top troubleshooting tips section of this article for assistance.
USB and FireWire Quick Assist - Apple Support
Have a great day,
Joe

Mar 10, 2015 8:36 AM in response to joe_7399by mingdurga,Problem solved. Installed a support disc that came with camera and all my pix popped up in I-Photo where I could crop and re-size.
Never had to use this disc before since the mac did the uploading for me. Appreciate the help, and will read both articles just in case.
Thanks.
