My iMac is incredibly hot!

Hot hot hot hot hot! Too hot! (Hot ****! 😝)

I have recently taken it to the Apple Store because of a hard drive issue. My hard drive was dying, so the darlings at the Genius Bar replaced it for me. That was about a week and a half ago now.

So... my dear iMac's issue now is that it's VERY HOT. I spend less than an hour playing Civilization V and my stats look like this:

I'm using Macs Fan Control 1.2.1. My mac was scary-hot to touch on the back of it.

So here we are. My iMac is hotter than Chris Evans in the latest Age of Ultron trailers.

My question is: is this normal? Because it sure as heck doesn't SEEM normal, y'all. Keep in mind that my iMac was JUST serviced. So.... this is weird, right?

Thanks in advance!

However, my card failed in a visual way with strange colors and bands across the screen. So just a slightly warmer heatsink may not qualify for a replacement.

Right now the GPU heatsink is at

which is about what you're experiencing, nothing unusual. Mine also gets hot to the touch in the summertime when the ambient temp in the office is higher.
