you do not give enough information but I'll take a guess.

To share contacts to all your devices, sign in to iCloud preferences pane with the same Apple id and check box contacts, assuming you have contacts on your mac.

Somehow all my contacts were erased from my iPhone.  I had done what was suggested on line by going to setting>?icloud>slide contacts to off then leaving settings  only to turn back on.  This did not reset all of my contacts.

My contacts were backed up on my computer then to iCloud.  The phone when plugged in did not automatically update the contacts portion.

I repeated the above once my phone had the latest update this time save infer and merging rather than deleting and starting fresh.

Whatever that did, it restored my contacts in their entirety from iCloud to my phone.

    Have you tried:

iTunes 12 for Mac: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad

Is iCloud Contacts turned on on the Mac?

If on the computer you go to icloud.com, sign in and go to Contacts> Are they there?

I got it.  Good thing i had saved them to my mac.  I just had trouble syncing them from mac back to my phone.  I ended up using iCloud but the initial restore of the phone did not update or sync the contacts.

ended up turning off the contacts in settings then turning it back on.

    thank you
