Q: Camera is frozen on time lapse setting

I have been attempting to take photos for the last few days. Every time I open my camera it says "not enough available storage". I can see that the camera is stuck on the time lapse setting (which obviously takes up more storage), and it won't allow me to scroll right to put it back to the normal camera setting. I have tried restarting my phone several times, but the camera remains stuck on time lapse. I have also deleted all of my photos to make room, but it still says there is not enough storage. In addition, the top of the screen is missing all of its options to turn on flash and switch the camera view. It all appears as an overlapping cluster in the top left hand corner. How can I switch from time lapse to camera without having to reset my whole phone?
