Q: connected a 2003 Power PC tower to my iMac Intel via a firewire cable and now iMac will not turn on.

I connected a 2003 Power PC tower to my iMac Intel via a firewire cable to transfer data, turned the iMac off and now it won't turn back on. Something blown? I have tried all of the tricks (power off for 10 minutes; hold the restart button for 10 seconds, etc.) Is there a fuse inside the machine that has been blown?

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Mac turning on. Does the issue persist if you leave all of the external accessories unplugged (like the PowerPC you mentioned)? Also, you can try resetting the SMC and the additional steps outlined in this resource:
