Ethernet connected, but no Internet

The status of my Ethernet cable shows "Connected" but I cannot connect to the Internet. If I disconnect the Ethernet cable and enable Wi-Fi, I can connect OK. However, if I reconnect the Ethernet cable, the Wi-Fi is disconnected from the Internet. I am running a macmini2,1 with a SSD and 4GB of RAM. The OS is 10.7.5.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
