Windows setup reports "No images available" when trying to install 8.1 w/ Bootcamp.

Can you verify your ISO image using Microsoft FCIV tool and the source you bought the ISO from? The ISO image is corrupt. Is your USB a USB2 or a USB3 device?

I get the same error. The whole BCA process went smoothly. When I try to load windows, setup starts and asks for Windows Key. After entering the key, the next option is select os which says no images are available with Next option greyed out. I am new to Mac so not too sure with how to progress.

Your ISO used to build the USB installer is corrupt. Can you download a new copy of the ISO and test?

I Will try again and update you. The ISO was built using my windows 8.1 computer through Windows Create media tool. I have however renamed the ISO to Windows8.1.iso, could this be an issue?

Having the EXACT same problem. I also used my windows computer and the "Create Media Tool" found here.

Of note. I was able to install Windows 10 just fine on my Mac. However, since my license is for Windows 8.1 I need to first install Windows 8.1, which is the problem.

I am facing the same problem. I have verified the MD5# of my source ISO and the one copied on the MAC and found them identical.

Still the same problem... Need help...

What is your Source? Where did this source come from?

Hi Everyone,

Been looking at this issue for a week now, but it looks like if you download the ISO on a Microsoft/Windows Product it will direct you to a different site, where you download the media creation tool.

However if you download it through OSX, then it looks like it gets you to download it via the browser.

So after getting it working it could be one of two things:

1. The file is named incorrectly (default file name for the Media creation tool is windows.iso). Whereas if you download it through the browser it will name it "WIN8.1_English_x64.iso).

2. If you download it via OSX, then it might download additional files required for it to run on OSX.

Not sure if this helps anyone. But seeing as there have been no useful solutions since September I think this might still be a problem, or people just aren't posting when they have fixed it.

The problem is likely that your product key does not match the software on the attached media. Try either skipping the product key or make sure the media matches the key.
