I want to get the contents of my Nano into my Mac.. It was previously synced with another computer which has died. Prompt says it is already synced with that computer so I can not sync it with my new one. Is there a way around that?

If you had automatic syncing enabled on your iPod nano rather than to manually manage the content, then you can only sync to one library. The iPod will need to be erased before you can sync with another library. To avoid this in the future, you can enable the manually manage music and videos option in iTunes.
