Q: compressor quit unexpectedly

Having problems with Compressor. It had been working fine, but now it will not open. "Compressor quit unexpectedly." In the error report it says "detected buffer overflow." How do I get it running again?

MacBook Pro, iOS 5.0.1

I would have guessed that there was something odd about the file you used as a source file.

You could try running Compressor Repair from Digital Rebellion. Make sure that Trash Preferences is checked when that window appears.

Post back and let us now what happens.

Can you provide your system specs, Compressor version and your workflow? What kind of input file and what settings are you applying?

Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10.2, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM

Compressor 4.1.3

Generally use Compressor with FCP 10.1.4 but will not even open by itself
