Q: How to unlock my sprint iphone5 with the code provided

I have this iphone5 given by a friend. Sprint has offered an unlocking code supposedly allows me to use it internationally.

But i found nowhere to input such code, and the phone still doesn't recognize my chinese sim card. Could anyone help with this?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9), cifsd crash

There is no unlock code that can be used with an iPhone.

There is no unlock code.

The point of the code is for use with non-iPhones.

Do i need to physically provide sprint with my phone, or they can do this remotely with a serial number?

You're welcome.

Sprint does not need the phone - they will need the iPhone's IMEI number and/or serial number. If Sprint approves the unlocking, Sprint will contact Apple.

The Apple link I provided with my first post includes what you will need to do after Sprint has contacted Apple.
