record scratch sound
I've got an iPhone 4s that just out of the blue I will get a "record scratching" sound effect. This sound isn't even listed in my phone. I've got no alerts showing up on my phone.
iPhone 4S, iOS 8.2

found the culprit.... Bandsintown app has this "record scratch" sound effect when it updates, but for some reason the badge notification wasn't working, so I never new that was what it was. Mystery sound solved
I'm new to the smart phone world and i'm using my iPhone on the Tracfone network....
#1. If I do a factory reset, does this do anything to my cell service or does it simply erase whats on the device and I rebuild what I have on their??
#2. in doing a reset I probably don't want to restore from a backup, just in case whatever this glitch is might be in the backup
am I right in my thought process??
A few corrections:
1. A factory reset would be going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. You are correct it won't affect your cell settings but it will remove everything from your phone.
2. Before going to that extreme I would try a Reset: Hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.
3. If a Reset fails to help you I would first try Restoring from your backup then Restore it as a new iPhone if that doesn't work.
I will try the reset first... my only concern with a restore from a backup is that what ever is causing this has been saved in the backup. I luckily don't have a ton of stuff on the phone, so if the reset doesn't work I may go to restore as a new iphone and then factory reset as last resort
thanks for the ideas
aren't there even any Apple Techs out there with answers???
Am I the only person with this problem??
No and Yes
