Q: Why my flash drive in my retina 13" mid 2014 is slow?

Hi guys,

It's nice to be back here after almost 4 years away. 3 weeks ago i bought new macbook pro with retina 13" - mid 2014 (production - dec 2014). It's weird what's happening sometimes with this mac. It uses almost all the time min. 6GB ram - flash drive is slow (128gb PCIE model) and fan is quite often loud .... Any one know what might be the problem?

Flash drive write speed is 220MB/s and read speed 549MB/s - compering to what I've seen in some reviews - my flash drive is slow...

But more surprised I am with the memory usage... 6GB in use when I'm using only safari.... and nothing else ... is it normal or yosemite 10.10.2 is messing a bit here?

Regarding RAM, read this and you will see that all is normal with the new OSX:

The OSX will try to use as much RAM as is available. Pressure, not amount, is the new metric.

As far as the storage is concerned, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bat and have them check the unit. They have the tools to determine if there are problems or not.
