iphone 4 sound only audible if loudspeaker on

Cannot hear anything on voicemail or phonecalls unless I use loudspeaker

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Hi Eileen,

If you are still not hearing any sound from your voicemails or your phone calls via the reciever speaker, I would recommend using the troubleshooting in the following article:

If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound quality is poor on iPhone
