Q: Battery of my MacBook Air '13 is not charging

Hi all,

So a few weeks ago my charger would sometimes not work. The battery at the top right of the screen would show a lightning symbol, but the light on the adapter was not green or orange. After plugging it in and out a few times, it would work. Now it doesn't work at all anymore. The only way my Macbook Air '13 works, is if I keep the charger plugged in. The light doesn't burn, and the battery is at a constant 0% (not increasing). When I click the battery-icon, it says it's not charging. If I pull the charger out, my macbook turns off.

What is wrong with it? I can't find any people on the internet with similar problems, so maybe you guys know it?

My warranty @ Apple has passed it's 1 year.

For being as new as it is... did I just end up with a defective product ? What does the power cycle number tell you? Is it at a number... that it should be with everything else that you're seeing ?

To RiellyRae. your cycle count is fine, it's you voltage thats too low. It could be just a defective battery.  that can happen even if it is new. The good thing is you have apple care.

I appreciate everybody's help  . I believe Najibit  and I are having very similar if not the same problems.  So when someone responded to me in response to my post to Najibit,  I just continued the conversation in this thread. Thinking that it would help both of us if we could come up with some sort of resolution for our problem.  I'm new to writing on the community board, so I hope I'm not offending anyone. This is actually the first time I've ever posted anything on here.  Once again thanks for any help you have to offer.

    Najibit,

Glad your ok with it. I think I may have upset some people.?  I just thought if it could help us both... its a win win! I've been looking for weeks and you are the first person I've been able to find with the same problem.  Nothing new on my end.

I'm going to try to make it to Best Buy today to see if they can do anything. (an exchange would be great)  I do have an appointment set up with Apple on Monday. So I should definitely have more information by Monday. Wish I had more for you... but that's all I have right now. I will definitely get back to when I get more information. Good luck on your end.
