Q: iCloud calendar disappearing from outlook
Okay so I've never posted anything on here so I'm not sure how it works, but I had a problem that I've spent maybe 200 hours of my life fixing over and over again and I finally found the solution to the problem on my own so I wanted to post it here for other people to see since I didn't see it anywhere no matter how much I looked.
I use iCloud calendar with outlook on my Windows 7 PC and once every couple of weeks when I was moving appointments around on my computer I would get an error message saying that I didn't have permission to move an item and if I try doing anything after that the entire calendar would disappear from Outlook. I spent hours and hours on the phone with Apple customer support speaking to several different reps, many of which claimed to be supervisors, but nobody had any clue how to fix the problem.
The solution is as follows:
You need to restart your computer and press F8 repeatedly to start in safe mode, if you have multiple operating systems or drives you choose the correct drive, then press F8 again repeatedly and then select safe mode with networking.
in safe mode going to iCloud and sign out and then restart and follow the same procedure as above to start in safe mode, sign back into iCloud and now it will prompt you to reinstall iCloud on your computer,
Very important*!
When it asks you which calendars to upload select none/unselect everything, because nothing needs to be uploaded-everything should be in iCloud!
I cloud will go through sure process to add everything back onto your outlook
Then do all the other things such as enabling your iCloud bookmarks if you do that, and then restart in regular and everything should be back… You're welcome! :-)
