I just wanted to import them from iPhoto. When I click import nothing really happens.
As you're learning, that's not how either program works.
Can you spell out what you are trying to do, and why? Many here can provide excellent advice; if you tell us your goal, we can likely help you achieve it efficiently. What do you want to end up with, either as a situation or as products?
Thanks in advance. I am completely new to Aperture and owning an Apple computer. I have a bunch of pictures that I upload from my camera in iPhoto right now, specifically from a baby shower that I was the photographer at. I want to move those pictures into aperture so I can edit them and eventually make a book for the couple. Hopefully that gives enough direction on what I am looking to do. Thanks!
Aperture can open the iPhoto library. There is really no need to import them into a library for Aperture.
To open your iPhoto Library in Aperture:
Which iPhoto version do you have? If it is iPhoto 9.3 or later and you have Aperture 3.3. or later launch iPhoto and in iPhoto select "Open library in Aperture" in the "File" menu.
See this link: Aperture 3.3: Using a unified photo library with iPhoto and Aperture
Aperture can't find any pictures to import
