can I set up 3G account on iPad without wifi???

I have given up on connecting my ipad2 to wifi. If I sign up for cellular service, will that work to get my iPad on the internet, or will I still need to connect wirelessly to set up 3G service? Thank you for any advice!

iPad 2, 64gb, cellular capable

Hi, thanks for the reply! I'll go ahead and try cellular service.

I don't know what's going on with the wifi. It won't detect wifi service when my newer iPads/iphones connect just fine. I've tried different wifi's other than my home network to be sure the problem wasn't there, but same result. It will occasional recognize wifi but then loses the signal before logging in. I've tried the restart/reboot but it didn't work. I brought it to genius bar a few months ago when my kids somehow put it into black screen ADA mode and they were able to get it connected to wifi but it didn't work for long. I don't know if it's worth the time to go back to genius bar to try to fix it again.

Cellular is kind of expensive...

For what it is worth, there have been reports you can connect an lighting to a usb-camera-connection kit to a usb hub to a usb-to- ethernet connector to get an internet connection.
