yosemite boot time very slow

I just upgraded to yosemite about a month ago. I really don't turn my computer completely off very often, but I am in a computer class this semester which requires the use of office 2013 which I am using on my BootCamp partition with windows 7. It's recently when i started restarting the computer to go into windows instead of mac that I noticed a pretty significant decrease in boot time from before I upgraded to Yosemite. I have a 13'' Macbook Pro from early 2011 and I am not sure what the initial boot up time was before but I want to say not more than 30 seconds and now after Yosemite I have a boot time of up to 55 to 60 seconds. I know its really not all that long still, but its pretty significant when the boot time before was half what it is now.

Any solutions?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Hey gracefulpaws03,

If you ever feel that the boot up times are longer that you would like or think that it is an issue, then take a look at the article below to walk you through verifying that the hard drive does not have an issues with it that may be the cause of a long boot process.

Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck
