ios 8.2 tv shows not getting grouped / sorted properly

FWIW, I use "MetaX" to encode all my files, but when I fill out the "director" tab in metaX, it does not transfer to the same sort director tab in iTunes. Technically MetaX doesn't have a director tab in the sort field, only under a "video" option (just means once imported into iTunes, I have to "select all -> get info -> sort field and enter something in the director tab).

Is there another meta tagging app out there anyone knows that has a director tab in the sort field?

I'm going to try and find an program that might help you / us with multiple files... it's on an older computer I will see tomorrow but it may still work.

Ah OK, well I feel your pain - I was just lucky that all the stuff I have converted seemed to be recognised as a one of two types, depending on whether I was ripping my DVDs using Handbrake or video via VID Box. Good luck

My previous message to do multiple files I figured out was an apple script (just search "iTunes apple script" and a few will appear). But it doesn't add to the directors sort field (that I could find anyway).

Another long running IOS issue… Any clues as to why the artwork does or doesn't appear correctly would be welcomed. At least I no longer have random album covers appearing for my films and TV shows 😕

Brilliant, just brilliant. Added the show to the director field and was able to do it en-mass as well. This has been bugging me for ages so thanks for saving dude 🙂

I have put the TV Show 'title' in the 'director' field and the 'sort as director' under the sorting tab field and... voilà! The TV shows are now sorted properly on the iPad. Why the Director would be the default and primary sorting field is beyond me! I will also be very hesitant to do another software update as something always gets stuffed up.

Umm.. little detail. The TV shows are displayed individually with the correct artwork but they are seem to be sorted in the order I've added them and not alphabetically. Only a part solution.
