Mar 23, 2016 12:32 AM in response to pigredby Whitedaises00,hi i just wanna share with you about how to fix the storage. okay first, make you that you already done with icloud backup on your iphone. For me the most important to backup are camera, whatsapp, contacts, notes, etc. Second, plug your cable into your laptop and then open itunes and click your iphone, then click restore at the top on right if not mistaken. It may takes about 2-3 hours. Third, open itunes again, and click restore icloud at the bottom. Hope its useful for you!

Apr 1, 2016 6:06 AM in response to Sbyrne1984by AppleBitesBigTime,Apple/Mac is INCREDIBLY frustrating! My old iPhone 4 had 250+ photos/videos..200 hundred songs until I got a storage full message. With my "improved" iPhone 6 I have NO music and 43 photos..and Already got a 'Storage Full' message! I'm not even going to go into the MacBook issues. God, I wish I NEVER changed from PC. Apple *****! No where to complain. They never respond in the 'Support Communities."

Apr 7, 2016 6:48 AM in response to joe_7399by wallacefromnahant,Hi Joe, Thanks much. This worked like a charm on my 6s. I did have to restore and my phone was reloaded from back up and my available storage is now 48G. Much better than the 7G that it was.
Cheers
Wally

Apr 13, 2016 12:58 PM in response to joe_7399by markferg33,Hey I've run the recovery mode through itunes, updated everything, deleted what'sapp... still down to barely any memory... My 16GB Iphone 6S plus shows a possible available available memory of just under 12GB and even after getting down to 0 songs and just over 500mb of photos and videos, still only 787MB of available memory... however, in iTunes, it says my phone has nearly 6GB of available memory... help please!

Apr 17, 2016 5:35 PM in response to Sbyrne1984by m.hover,Really glad to hear I am not the only one who is having this issues. I just went from a 5 to a 6. Same amount of storage on both. I want my 5 back. I have half the amount of apps, hardly any photos, and my disk space is full. This is ridiculous to pay this much for a phone and it not work. I am going to ask to get a 5. I work from my phone and it is preventing me from working.
I have tried everything Apple has suggested, and nothing has changed the amount of storage. My 5 has 33GB available. My 6 has 1.9GB. And again, my 6 has less than half of what is on my 5.

May 5, 2016 2:21 PM in response to Sbyrne1984by 2Much$Spent,have you ever found out the issue because I deleted music and photos so my biggest app uses 1.1 gigs messages 984Mbs after that less and less Mbs which all added up is not 16 gigs smh I need help free space missing
-
May 5, 2016 8:47 PM in response to 2Much$Spentby Triadx2,for me, simply backing up and restoring to original specs then just readding the latest backup worked. You will never have 16 g of space available due to the ios software...

May 21, 2016 4:46 PM in response to m.hoverby Gabrielle_13,I am also having the same problem. I have never had whatsapp installed on my iPhone 6s. I have nothing left to delete. I currently have 0 music, 18 photos, I have 2 emails and 1 voice mail. In my texts messages it said I was using up 500mb which I found impossible but I've since deleted those too. I then also restored my phone and my storage went up by almost 300mb which I was grateful to have at that point ... buttttt, faster than it took me to do all this the 300mb of storage I gained was gone!!
I am so beyond frustrated and I absolutely don't want to get rid of my phone!! Apple please address this .... And fix it!!
It's ridiculous the amount of people having the same issue.. and still no fix?? My phone is practically useless and has been since shortly after I purchased it. Beyond frustrated at this point .. I'm fed up and have better things to do with my time.
I don't have 2 hours daily to spend going in circles with Apple support.

Jun 17, 2016 10:20 PM in response to Sbyrne1984by clartdulay,I encountered this is issue before and I can't believe up until now, this hasn't been fixed yet.
It's ridiculous to think that you spent thousands of money for a device that would waste most of your time re-downloading apps, musics, books and all sort of stuff you had downloaded because you don't have any choice but to restore your freaking phone to it's factory default. Only to find out that the issue still there and you have to do the same thing over again.
No, i don't have whatsapp on my phone. iTunes installed in my laptop is v 12.xx.x.x . it shows in that i have 3.x GB when I connect my phone to itunes. But it only shows I have 500MB in iOS.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!!!!!!

Level 1 (4 points)
iPhoneThis is my third time with this issue. What'sapp is not my problem.
My least painful choice is to restore from ITUNES BACK UP BECAUSE ICLOUD BACK UP DOESN'T BACK UP TEXTS. The restore may take a few hours and many of my device settings must be redone.
I will bet you android is the same frustration. This is the price I pay for not having to walk to the mailbox to deliver mail (i use email) and other conveniences of smartphone.
In any case very aggravating the third time with this problem but I'm getting used to it.
At least, I know the "solution" and don't have to call them and hear them say, "I know how frustrating this must be" and "I never heard of this issue with false memory usage" or let me talk to a higher level tech or engineer
