Mac Book Pro (2006) no longer prints to HP C7180 on network. Job gets sent but "error" is all I get in the queue. Help

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6. It used to print to the HP C7180 I have on the network but has stopped doing so. I reloaded print drivers from the 10.6 disk. I removed and reinstalled the printer. No luck. All I get is "error" whenever I send a job to print. I get the same problem when I connect the printer by USB as well. I suspect a corrupt file somewhere. Also the computer seems to be getting hotter. I believe it has the defective NVIDIA chip in it and it is starting to fail. Any suggestions?

I Tried the reset Reloaded software from cd. Reinstalled printer. No joy. When I do the add printer I get a message that some software is missing and printer may not print. Funny thing is the laptop sees the printer and I can remotely scan and copy. Just can't print. still get error. Same with USB or network connection. Do not understand what software it is looking for.
